My experience with elderly started when I was a support worker 30yrs ago, when I was a child I saw my mother take care of her sister who had cancer and then she took care of her mother, my grandmother who had 2 strokes. I believe my empathy and caring for elderly comes from my mum. I cared for my mum for 2yrs when my dad passed away, she has dementia, she is 92yrs old, my brother now lives with our mum, she is the most kind caring loving person I know. Over the years I have been a Companion Carer for people with Dementia, or someone needing companionship, a few hours company.
